When you do apply, you will need to input some detailed responses. These have been listed below, for your preparation (in case you would like to type these out in a draft and copy them across):

  1. Provide a brief summary of your employment and/or volunteering history, relevant to the role of a UQ Student Mentor, including employer/volunteer organisation name, position, and period of employment/duration of service;
  2. Share your experience of transitioning from high school to university;
  3. Describe your interests, hobbies, and talents (please include details of current UQ club/society involvement where relevant);
  4. What is your motivation for applying for the position of a UQ Student Mentor?;
  5. Experience, knowledge and skills: (maximum 3-4 paragraphs)
    For example: Interacting with secondary school students from a variety of backgrounds; mentoring, leadership and/or community/volunteer experiences; effective organisational skills; working as part of a successful team;
  6. Personal qualities: (maximum 3-4 paragraphs)
    For example: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to listen and contribute to team discussions; friendly and approachable personality; ability to show initiative ; excellent time management and ability to work within deadlines; a passion for assisting others and ability to relate to and be a positive role model for prospective students.
